Hey folks. Im working out on getting a table this year at Armageddon to sell some pictures. Anybody done this themselves or have any tips? Or maybe doing the same themselves...?

I had contacted them in 08 about hiring a stand. For the smallest 3x2.5 section it was around $1,200+gst - This was two years ago though and when it was still at Aotea. I imagine (hope) its gotten a little cheaper now that its out at Ellerslie.

You would probably want to get a group together to make it worthwhile. Or re-sell other peoples art for commission? I (or CGNZ as such) would be interested so let me know how you go.

I'm gonna answer on behalf of Cory, since I shared the table :P

It was awesome. We had fun. Photos will be posted. Auckland Armageddon will also be visited.

Hey Tim, you should come visit us up in Studio #25 sometime :D

It was amazing guys!
Tom, Stacey and I drew our ASSES off. Filling postcards with dinosaurs, monsters, cute...things, video game characters, Heath, even D&D characters - whatever they asked of us. It seemed to make a difference the fact that we were drawing right in front of them like that. They really enjoyed it. I even put out a few caricatures (!!) and got Tom to do the same.
We operated with a donation/tips jar kind of thing, and honestly, it seemed to throw most people for a loop, though others enjoyed it, and hell, it got us plenty of attention.
Made a heap of friends and had a blast doing it. Cant wait for the October one in Auckland....!

Cool, sounded like fun. How much did the table cost ya?

I was at a party a while back and entertained the kiddies by drawing requests onto balloons. Went down a treat with the youngins. It started a sort of bidding war; once one of the kids came up with a cool thing for me to draw, all the other kids would come back and ask for the same thing. Rinse and repeat...

Wow, you guys should try and fit more people behind that table ;)

Looks like fun, cool wares you guys. Someone knock on my studio door when you're in next, I'd love to have a closer look at the comics and toys you've all spent so long on!
