WIP insect/human body

Postby RAdo » Sun Jul 04, 2010 5:44 pm

Hi all,
looking for some comments on my first 3D experiment of converging shapes of male + female; Asian + European as a human body driven by an insect . Can anyone tell me where to get texture brushes for sculptris?

Hey bro its looking pretty cool so far, theres a few things id like to mention though:
1. i would definitely either make it male OR female, making it a half-breed or mix of the two just makes it look like you dont know what your doing. Id say go with female as it seems your most like that anyway,
2. when you establish which you want to do get some anatomy reference because although you seem to have some areas pretty accurate other areas have too much definition or are too big or not big enough.

id say work on those points and then re-post.. also is it in a suit or naked? im not familiar with z-brush but if your using mudbox you can simply put any image under the stencils folder and then paint a bump map with them from there.

I hope that was helpfull :D

You are so right Sam I'm doing this for fun and experiment and do not want to use anatomy references at this stage ( that's why there are some disproportions) . I'm trying to find the balance so that's why the androgynous look - the sexy one is distracting :? .

Thanks again for your comments and help

not too bad soo far - only suggestions i have would be that the head seems a little too far forward.....could try pulling the head back a tad - so that the back of the head lines up with the rear of the shoulder (side view), not too much though, still want to keep the neck itself tilting forward....hope that makes sense
like the neck musculature that youve got going.
only other idea was to add some gravity to the bum cheeks, unless your going for pert and young......a middle aged or older anatomy might have some sagging down there, depends on age i guess.
keep it up

Thanks mate, I have the legs bent like kneeling pose therefore the head is forward but you are right it looks a bit strange from the side because the insect’s antennae are going through the back side of the neck. I most likely will not leave it naked so will think about the gravity later :) .
